Our first day started after breakfast when our guide, Andrew, led us to walk along the Cotswolds way, a National Trail. The long-distance footpath starts at Chipping Campden and ends in Bath, with 102 miles in total. However, that day we only walked 6 miles to Winchcombe. We had lunch at Hayles Fruit Farm tea room. We agreed that their organic apple juice was very tasty, we also had cream tea for the first time!
After arriving at Winchcombe, we walked around for a little while then caught the bus back to our house. We ended the day by playing board games together in front of the fireplace before going to bed.
The next morning, we travelled from our house to Broadway by Andrew’s car. After spending a short time there, we then went to Broadway Tower. Andrew told us the history of the tower and also a lot of historical facts and stories about many things we experienced through the walks in those two days.
We then walked 4.5 miles from the tower to Chipping Campden, which took the total for our two days’ walks up to 10.5 miles. In Chipping Campden, we had tea and scones at the Bantam Tea Rooms which Everyone really enjoyed. Finally we said goodbye to Andrew and headed back to Rochester that afternoon.
The trip was fascinating. Even though everyone was tired from the walks, we still enjoyed ourselves a lot. We had so many new experiences such as walking through a flock of sheep, learned historical facts and trying new foods and traditions. This trip will surely be in our memories forever.
