Celebrating the European Language Day

We started with a remote assembly for the Lower School students. After a wobbly start due to technical difficulties, we managed to reach most of the students. We were delighted to have the cooperation of some international boarding students greeting all in their various languages. In addition three Sixth form students produced an interesting presentation about their countries. (In the picture appears Nadia with a Year 13 student presenting from the New Court foyer)

Some Year 7 students attending the assembly remotely. Three Year 10  students reading some of the poems at break time. For some year 9 students, the big surprise came after lunch, when a Year 11 student visited their Spanish lesson to teach them, very enthusiastically, some Japanese.

This year our usual Bake Sale could not take place due to the current atmosphere, however some students found sponsors among their family and friends to raise money for charity by learning the names of some European countries and their capital cities. All the money will go to the Abbey Physic Garden in Faversham.

A big thank you to all the teachers and students who participated in this celebration of languages.
