RIC Boarding Creative Writing

This half term saw the launch of the RIC Boarding Creative Writing Club on a Monday evening run by myself; Emily (RIC’s newest EAL Teacher and Resident Tutor). Having always been an avid and passionate writer myself, I completely understand and appreciate the benefits that creative writing has in terms of being an outlet and therapeutic. I wanted to share this with the Boarding community, and I am extremely proud of those who have come each week and produced some fantastic pieces of writing.

Litter Heroes

If you thought The Wombles did a great job cleaning up Wimbledon Common (ask your parents) then you’re going to be even more impressed with RIC litter-pickers. Every Thursday lunchtime a small group of RIC volunteers head out on a mission to ‘take out the trash’. Each week they venture to a new spot in Rochester for a litter pick.

Not only have the ensured that the wonderful gardens of RIC are free from litter, they have also been to Jackson’s field and Rochester High Street, amongst other locations.

These unsung heroes of RIC, led by RIC teacher Jenny Duff, have made RIC and the Rochester area a cleaner place to be.
