RIC goes… HarryPottering!
On Sunday, January 19th a group of international students and Holly (EAL teacher) enjoyed a magical afternoon while visiting the Harry Potter Studios in London.
After arriving, the first thing they did was to take a picture under the massive white dragon in the foyer. Shopping was a must and even the shop made you feel like you were entering into a magical world as you were able to buy candy from Honeydukes, wands from Olivanders and anything you wanted from mugs to stationary to games to clothes from each of the four different houses. Among the group, they ended up having 3 Hufflepuffs, 3 Ravenclaws, and 1 Gryffindor, but no Slytherins! Some of the students bought Harry Potter robes with their names engraved on them and others bought baby Hedwigs and chocolate frogs.
While taking the tour, they were able to watch videos from the directors of the films who explained their journeys when making the blockbuster movies. They also saw the costumes the actors wore, the sets – Diagon Alley, the Forbidden Forest, and Gringotts, and one of them even rode a broomstick! At the midway point, some of them also tried butterbeer before moving on to the second stage of the tour. At the end of our tour, it was exciting to see the magical Hogwarts castle which is actually the real model they used in the films.

Expecto Patronum ! It was defintely an epic journey!
PositivelyMAD
We had the pleasure of hosting Positively Mad at the college today who delivered three workshops for various year groups. They kicked off with an interactive and reflective personal development workshop focusing on up-skilling students for our Year 7s-9s. They then delivered an Exam Busters workshop for our year 11s to empower students with exam preparation tips, revision tools and stress management techniques. Finishing the day off with an immersive Super Speed Study Skills workshop for year 10 which inspired students to take control of their studying.
