European Day of Languages 2019

The MFL Department will be celebrating The European Day of Languages with our Lower School students next week with a number of activities to promote world languages and cultures. As well as taking part in a variety of cross-curricular activities in lessons, students will be able to sample a range of international dishes for lunch. Mandarin and Italian language clubs will also be on offer to everybody during lunchtime.

A Breath of Fresh Air

The great outdoors. A place that is not very likely to be a top choice for most teenagers early on a Sunday morning. However, after a little nap on the coach for some, the boarders & boarding team arrived at Kingswood Activity Centre, Ashford bright and early for a fun day of boarding activities.

Kent Cloth Project

RIC’s very own Textile Design guru, Francesca Baur, has developed a series of seasonal wall hangings exploring the landscape of Kent for the Kent Cloth Project. As we become increasingly disconnected from the making process through the speed of modern textile production, this project advocates a slower approach to creating natural local textiles with a story that embraces local heritage and landscape. From employing traditional skills and growing the flax for linen, to making natural plant dyes.
